Albertsons Safeway is working to become the favorite food and drug retailer in every market it serves. The Supply Chain Department has an opening for a Sourcing Analyst. This position is located in Boise, Idaho.
 
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Data mining related to specific initiatives and projects as requested by the Strategic Sourcing Department
  • Provide analysis including cost input, major drivers and logistic impacts
  • Support Sourcing Manager and Sr. Sourcing Manager as needed with their categories
  • Gather bid data and analyze complex supplier proposals and make award recommendations to the sourcing management and key stakeholders
  • Summarize financials and present recommendations to business unit and senior management
  • Develop and manage supplier relationships with primary responsibility for bringing resolution to day to day issues related to pricing, and ongoing projects, issues and concerns.
  • Initiate, manage, and execute sourcing projects that deliver improved quality, cost, service, and innovation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the business
  • Responsible for building efficient financial models that support competitive negotiating events
  • Ability to challenge financial assumptions when needed
  • Interface with various business units on projects and support the development of strategies to create a competitive negotiation environment
  • Ensure that processes are being followed and adhered to for SOX compliance
  • Initiate and complete vendor set-up documentation and various forms from suppliers and route through the organization’s system.
  • Support Safeway personnel to resolve vendor invoice price discrepancy, product delays and/or shortages with incumbent supplier
  • Project support as required for the department
  • Willingness to travel as requested to attend various offsite meetings including Safeway offices or plants, and supplier plants or offices
 
Qualifications:
  • B.A./B.S. degree in Business or other related field preferred
  • Diverse experience and knowledge in various aspects of sourcing/supply chain preferred
  • Exceptional meeting management and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong presentation skills
  • Exceptional data mining capabilities across databases
  • Strong program skills in MS Office and Supply Chain systems
  • Experience with Teradata, DB2,QMF,Qlikview, and Lawson preferred
  • High energy level, initiative, creative problem solving ability and sense of urgency
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal guidance, and create solutions that are in alignment with the culture and strategies of the department and company
  • Strong organization skills, attention to details, quality assurance and follow through
  • High degree of initiative with strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong customer support and ability to work with cross functional teams
