Position Purpose:
The primary focus of the Director, Creative position is to direct the strategic and tactical creative direction guidelines for the company and all of its banners, and translate the company’s unique marketing strategies into simple, consistent, memorable and actionable marketing communications. The position requires an innate sense of creativity as well as superior leadership and collaborative skills.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Content strategist. Champions and drives the strategic direction of company initiatives and expression of our brands through creative expertise and inspiration for design and copy.
• Leads the analysis of creative projects to clarify strategy, set timelines, determine resources and need for additional information.
• Drives the creative development on high profile and high priority corporate marketing communication projects.
• Manages the execution of creative deliverables with outside creative resources.
• Ensures that consumer insights are considered and incorporated into the creative process. Participates in research projects and plays a key role in strategy briefing sessions.
• Support efforts and provides guidance, support and ideas for improvement or efficiency of strategic marketing solutions.
• Directs and mentors professional development of internal direct report and external creative resources to create quality, on-strategy creative work with a unified set of goals and accuracy standards.
• Influences and partners with advertising agencies and creative teams to conceive and present new marketing campaigns to internal clients.
• Keep all marketing materials and presentations organized and available for immediate reference.

Qualifications: 
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Communications, Advertising, English, Journalism, Visual Design or related field. 
• 10 years of progressive retail marketing experience in an agency or in-house agency environment. 
• 5-7 years of supervisory experience that includes leading teams and taking projects from concept to execution.
• Strong conceptual and strategic skills in the development of compelling marketing communications. 
• Thorough understanding of the print advertising creative process.
• Ability to provide creative feedback and assess the need for creative refinements on a project and clearly articulate those refinements to creative teams.
• Extensive experience interacting with senior leadership in order to gain support, input and approvals.
• Superior project management skills and strengths in managing multiple projects/deadlines.
• Ability to set priorities and be flexible in changing environments.
• Superior planning, organizational and decision-making skills.
• Extensive communication and presentation skills; confident and articulate.
• Strong understanding of the intricacies of visual and verbal brand standards.
• Ability to provide entrepreneurial leadership to cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrate the ability to perform well and remain organized under tight deadlines.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills; ability to develop positive, professional relationships with a diverse group - including executives, project stakeholders and support teams.
• Strategic, solutions-oriented approach to problem solving.
• Travel Requirements: Moderate travel to all Divisions.
