The Senior Accountant position is responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the department. They support the collection, classification, analysis, and reporting of financial results of the company. They are responsible for coordination and communication related to various subject matter areas.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Assist in period, quarter and year-end close procedures for timely and accurate financial reporting
Ensure reporting deadlines are met
Assist in analyzing and resolving complex accounting issues
Research and answer questions from management and other users of financial data
Complete closing activities including journal entries, allocations, and P&L analysis
Maintain balance sheet account reconciliations
Research, analyze and make recommendations relative to reserves and expenses
Other duties as necessary to support the department and company financial functions
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Education Level:
4 year college degree in Business Administration or Accounting required
CPA license or CPA track preferred
Master’s degree in accounting or relevant field preferred
Experience Level:
Prefer minimum of 4 years as an accountant with increasing complexity of work responsibilities or equivalent
Skills and Experiences:
Excellent accounting skills with knowledge of rules, regulations and standards including understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Should be proficient in using advanced functionality of spreadsheet applications to perform complex financial analysis
Excellent problem solver; capable of applying a logical set of steps, often with incomplete information, to solve complex business problems
Capable of managing numerous simultaneous projects, including following each through to completion
Must consistently demonstrate a positive and consistent attitude, even in the face of obstacles
Strong oral and written communication skills and presentation skills
Must have good interpersonal skills and be a team player
Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Excel and Word
Good organizational and analytical skills with ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
High degree of initiative, accuracy, and adaptability
Honest and trustworthy, exhibiting the strongest business ethics
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Less than 15%.
