Store Planner

Director, Store Planning & Design

Responsible for the creative design and development of Computer-Aided Design fixture plans for remodel/new stores and small projects per the approved Capital Plan in collaboration with Division and Corporate Merchants.   

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Develop design solutions and Computer Aided Design (CAD) fixture plans for remodel/new stores and small projects
• Deliver projects in timely and effective manner to meet the Capital Plan.
• Review Remodel Projects with Division and Corporate Merchants.
• Execute fixture plans per base plan and equipment solutions for each Division. Identify opportunity to standardize fixtures and layout in the Divisions.   
• Review Remodel Fixture plans with Corporate Merchants and Division on fixture plans on opportunities to enhance design while minimizing costs by reviewing and interpreting existing conditions, and understanding project needs.  
• Support and develop unique projects as identified by Store Design, Corporate Merchants or Division.
• Collaborates with Store Planners, establish, recommend, and maintain, project files, drawing integrity and CAD standards.

• First level position to the Store Planner job family.  Handles projects with supervision and guidance from more senior positions.
• Creates design and plan layouts of retail stores using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.
• Works under closer supervision, handling the fixture plans, establish and maintain equipment standards for the development of new store, remodel and other capital projects.
• Reviews and interprets existing conditions, constraints and opportunities (including dimensions and other as-built conditions) and input into the drawing file
• Submits completed project information to Senior Store Planner or Director, Store Planning & Design for review; Revise plan layouts as requested by reviewers
• Maintains project files
• Support for special projects as requested

• Produce remodel fixture plans for 30-60 projects
• Produce small project fixture plans for 100 projects

• Produce new store fixture plans for 5 projects
• Produce remodel fixture plans for 30-60 projects
• Produce small project fixture plans for 100 projects
• Develop unique design solutions for projects as required
• Day to day management of small projects and/or initiatives.

Relevant Experience, Education, Certification, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Degree in Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture preferred.
• CAD experience required, knowledge of Auto-CAD preferred
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel
• Must be flexible in nature and work well in a “change” environment. 
• Prefer experience with rendering, 3D sketching, Photoshop, Revit, etc.

• Related experience required.
• Computer-aided design experience required.
• Possess ability to work with and through others to achieve desired results.
• Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Ability to multi-task
• Must possess strong communication abilities, both verbal and written.
