The Supply Operations Department has a Manager, Distribution Compliance opening. The position is located in Boise, ID.
 
The Manager of Distribution Compliance is responsible for overseeing food safety compliance requirements for the distribution center facilities, including transportation and warehouse operations.  They partner closely with cross functional teams including distribution leadership, risk control management and food safety/quality assurance departments to ensure compliance with company and regulatory policies.
 
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Develop and assist Corporate supply chain leadership with the implementation of proactive food safety monitoring programs for distribution operations with a focus on the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and Sanitary Food Transportation Act (SFTA)
• Conduct annual distribution center FSMA/SFTA assessments
• Co-develop corrective action plan associated with assessment findings
• Facilitate corrective action completion monitoring in collaboration with local operating teams
• Develop and maintain internal compliance scorecard for senior leadership communication
• Design and support food safety policy implementation in collaboration with the Corporate FSQA team to include employee training programs, standard operating procedures and policy deployment to ensure regulatory and company requirement compliance
• Identify and leverage best practices related to engaging employees and distribution leadership with food safety and quality assurance protocol for operational sustainment.  Facilitate team problem solving and mentor for local management to improve overall awareness and management of internal food safety policies and regulatory compliance
• Coordinate communication to FDA, USDA, Dept of Ag, Public Health and associated federal, state and local regulatory compliance for post-inspection responses
• Leverage lean six sigma approaches to systematically identify and eliminate quality failures to improve service to retail and ensure regulatory compliance. Develop and implement effective processes for root cause identification and/or failure mode & effect analysis to avoid reoccurrence of food safety failures
 
 
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
 
Education Level: 
• Bachelor’s degree in related field; <or> equivalent work experience. 
 
Experience Level:
• 5 years experience in distribution operations preferred
• 5 years experience in food safety compliance preferred
• 5 years management experience and skills required with emphasis managing by influence
 
 
Skills and Experiences:
• Strong working knowledge of all applicable statutes and regulations including FDA, USDA, Dept of Agriculture, Public Health and associated local, state and federal regulatory agencies
• Knowledge of hazardous materials handling and related compliance regulations and safety requirements
• Success in developing, implementing, and coordinating food safety and quality assurance programs and related initiatives
• High degree of initiative and results orientation
• Strong team facilitation and customer focus
• Excellent communication, training and interpersonal skills
• Proficient PC skills and knowledge of Microsoft office suite
 
 
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 
• > 50% travel
 
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT: 
• Office environment, however, will require work in a distribution center environment
• Work typically performed in a temperature-controlled environment.  However, job requires work in a distribution center environments with temperatures ranging from ambient to minus twenty degrees
• Sits, stands or walks for extended periods of time
• Bending, stooping and twisting required periodically
• Spends long periods of time at desk or computer terminal
• Uses calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of normal workday
• Workday is fast paced, some evening and weekend work may be required
